Class Description

Restorative SATYA (Sensory Awareness Training for Yoga Attunement) is a Somatic practice that builds mindfulness through movement. Developed by Tias Little of Prajna Yoga it is a therapeutic 'yin' style practice of articulated movement on the floor done in a flowing fashion, synthesising breath with movement. The exercises are non-weight bearing and involve sliding, gliding and circular movements to reduce myo-fascial holding in the body. When done on the floor, the breath and movement together enables myo-facial release without strain. All movements are done slowly, in isolation, and without force. The movements replenish the body by increasing circulation (the flow of prana) throughout all tissues in the body and acts as a "prana pump" to oxygenate the bloodstream and irrigate or "soak" the tissues. Yoga Nidra iRest founded by Richard Miller PhD is a protocol; a system of deep relaxation and meditative enquiry which invites you to connect to your deepest self with kindness and love and enter into a state of "just being", embodying wellbeing and peace. Logistics Please have a blanket spread out over your mat for the Somatic practice and a bolster, cushion, blanket and eye bag to support you in Yoga Nidra
